WIM Sulejmanova managed to turn her kingside attack, which involved a piece sacrifice, to full point. Although WGM Smokina was an exchange up, there was enough counterplay in the game so the players agreed on a draw.

The game WGM Partac-Soylemez was drawn whereas Patel sacrificed a piece for better attacking chances but lost to WIM Tsatsalashvili. WIM Tsatsalashvili is still the only player who won all her games.

A nice challenge took place in the game WFM Laura-Sop where both sides were short on time. Sop managed to turn her advantage into a win.

BRIEF ANALYSIS OF THE CONTENTIOUS GAMES IN ROUND 5TH
web_dsc07759.jpgIn the games Topak-GM Mirzoev, Dastan-IM Marinkovic and FM Ali Marandi-GM Genov the players thought the chances were equal and agreed on draws. Although Kerigan chose an aggressive variation of the Scotch opening and played for a win, he settled for a draw afterwards. In the game WIM Ozturk-WGM Scheiling the game was simplified to a rook endgame, where both sides played for a win but couldn't make it. A draw was agreed.

Neither Kaya nor WGM Smokina could reach a position they wanted and they agreed on a draw. WIM Tsatsalashvili goes on playing with impressive style with 5 wins in 5 games whereas WIM Sulejmanova's pressurized play made him achieve a victory over his young opponent. The game Sop-WFM Bensdrop was hard and challenging where the sides shook hands for a half point in a queen endgame. Soylemez played with impressive style against WGM Partac.
